Art is so subjective. You might look at an empty white wall and feel that it looks bare, boring, plain, lonely. While another will look at the same white wall and see so much beauty, life, potential, and be completely inspired to create something wonderful. Art is my escape, a way to channel my emotions and my experiences. I like to look at painting as a way of unlocking the questions and mysteries in life. Finding the answers. Revealing the truth is no guarantee that you’ll be happy with what you find. We don’t always like what life throws our way but the importance is to see the truth and beauty in everything. Life is about being resilient and bouncing back, evolving and adapting. Turning something dark and negative into something beautiful.
Over the last year I have come to the realization that there was something missing in my life. Balance. I'm not too sure where this new found balance will take me. I am looking forward to the journey.
Mi aerodeslizador está lleno de anguilas
Tales of a Nicaraguan adventure filled with enlightenment, surf, jelly fish and yes...hovercrafts full of eels!
This past fall I was fortunate enough to spend almost seven weeks in Nicaragua. The trip consisted of a yoga course, incredible friends made, truck adventures, surfing ever single day in jelly infested oceans and lots and lots of Rum!
How long do you think it takes the average person to remember how to say that their hovercraft is full of eels in Spanish? How long did it take me...a really long time!
It's been fun painting for this show! I only had a month to build and paint it all so I hope you enjoy what's in front of you!
